Reception & Y1 RSPB Ranger Visit
Fri 19 Jul 2019Reception and Year 1 were delighted to get a visit from Oscar, an RSPB ranger, who delivered a ‘Bioblitz’ workshop. He worked with us to identify different mini beasts and birds in the allotment and woodland area. He was very excited to find evidence of a Song Thrush in our school grounds as their population has been declining. We had so much fun in our amazing outdoor areas and we found lots of creatures including tiger slugs, ringed snails, woodlice, ladybird larvae and ladybirds ! It was also very interesting to learn about the career of an RSPB ranger and to imagine what it is like to have such an interesting job. -

Fri 19 Jul 2019We have celebrated the end of another fantastic year with our Summer Achievement Assembly which included a performance from some of the children who have been learning musical instruments this year. I am so proud of all of the children in school and it was a lovely final assembly.

Thank you once again for your continued support and we shall see you all on Tuesday 3rd September!

Walk to School Film Makes Finals of OWL Film Competition
Sun 14 Jul 2019To promote and celebrate the marvellous start to our ‘WOW’ Walk to School Once a Week Project; our WOW monitors from Y3 - Y6 (Emily, Lily, Max, Imogen, Oliver, Neve, Robert, Harry and Corey) created a short film. The video details the many ways that we can now actively travel to school and how the project has encouraged a more inclusive environment across the whole school and local community. The film was entered into an Outer West Learning Trust competition with the theme of ‘No Outsiders.’ The film reached the finals, and even though we did not win, our film makers have made Miss Richardson and all of Throckley Primary very proud with their wonderful work! If you would like to watch our film, ’No Outsiders’, please see latest news documents. -
