Easter Baskets in Reception
Fri 26 Mar 2021Reception have been working on their fine motor skills while making spring baskets. This activity helped the children to practise their fine motor skills when cutting and folding the paper. We then made chocolate crispy cakes to put inside.

Y6 Crime Scene Lesson
Fri 26 Mar 2021Year 6 are currently reading ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar as their class book. Last week they took part in an exciting crime scene lesson which helped them to plot the sequence of events in the book.
Breaking news - Green Lake has fallen victim to the dangerous outlaw, Kissin’ Kate Barlow! This morning the deputies at the Green Lake Sheriff’s Department had a crime to solve. Using the evidence from the scene and their knowledge of the sequence of events that led up this tragedy, they were able to identify key moments that led to the transformation of the local school teacher, Miss Katherine Barlow, into the most notorious outlaw in the West (Kissin’ Kate Barlow).

Year 6 Interpreting Census Data
Fri 19 Mar 2021Year 6 broadened their understanding of Census by interpreting data and constructing line graphs that showed the increase in the UK population every 10 years. Year 6 pupils looked at data taken from census each year and plotted the data onto a line graph. Using their line graphs, they answered a few questions which required them to interpret what they could see from the data.

Class Census in Year 2
Fri 19 Mar 2021Year 2 had a fascinating look at the Census data from 10 years ago for the Throckley area. They then completed a whole class census about their favourite things and recorded their data in a tally chart. The class then tried recording data a different way using a pictogram. Each child recorded their own data about the favourite animals of their classmates. Once all pictograms had been completed, the whole class shared their findings on a chart on the interactive board in the classroom.

We have had a wonderful first week back in school!
Fri 12 Mar 2021From brand new reading corners in Reception and Year 2, to Jack and the Beanstalk activities in Nursery to an exciting science experiment about how light travels in Year 6, the children have had a fantastic first week in school. All of the staff are thrilled to have them back where they belong!
