Reception and Year 1 were delighted to get a visit from Oscar, an RSPB ranger, who delivered a ‘Bioblitz’ workshop. He worked with us to identify different mini beasts and birds in the allotment and woodland area. He was very excited to find evidence of a Song Thrush in our school grounds as their population has been declining. We had so much fun in our amazing outdoor areas and we found lots of creatures including tiger slugs, ringed snails, woodlice, ladybird larvae and ladybirds ! It was also very interesting to learn about the career of an RSPB ranger and to imagine what it is like to have such an interesting job.
