Nursery Trip to Whitehouse Farm
Fri 14 Jun 2019Nursery children have been learning about the topic of 'Animals' throughout the Summer Term. In order to bring their learning to life, they visited Whitehouse Farm to meet all different types of animals. They were able to hold and touch reptiles, soft animals, small animals and big animals. As part of PHSE, they learned how to care for animals and how to stay safe when you are near an animal. They also learned about hygiene and how important it is to wash your hands whenever you have been touching an animal. -
Wordless Books Week
Fri 07 Jun 2019From Nursery to Year 6, all classes have been celebrating 'Wonderful Wordless Books' this week. Each year group chose a different picture book to focus on and used it to inform the teaching for the week. Wordless books have so many benefits to children and can really support their reading skills and require children to engage with images on a deeper level along with firing up their imaginations! The children have thoroughly enjoyed studying these new texts. Please ask them about it at home!
The photographs show Year 2 who have been looking at ‘The Farmer and the Clown’. They created the farmer’s house in the classroom, including the items they thought he would have in his rooms. They then added some interesting adjectives to describe the items and gave each other guided tours of the house, describing what was inside!

Butterflies in Reception
Fri 07 Jun 2019In order to develop their understanding of the world and as part of their Animals topic, our Reception classes have been learning about the lifecycle of butterflies. The children cared for little caterpillars and then watched the process of them changing into lovely butterflies. They then set the butterflies free so that they could continue with their lifecycle. -
School Games Cycling Competition
Fri 07 Jun 2019A team of children from years 5 and 6 competed in a cycling competition on Wednesday afternoon, made up of both individual and relay mountain bike events. The children showed great determination throughout as it was extremely hard going on such a challenging, long track!

Batten Disease Awareness Day
Fri 07 Jun 2019Today we have been participating in Batten Disease Awareness Day by designing orange wrist bands and wearing them to the morning assembly. Mr Kidger told the children why it is important to be aware of the condition and reminded them of the fun that we had at our fund raising carnival last year .
