Wordless Books Week
From Nursery to Year 6, all classes have been celebrating 'Wonderful Wordless Books' this week. Each year group chose a different picture book to focus on and used it to inform the teaching for the week. Wordless books have so many benefits to children and can really support their reading skills and require children to engage with images on a deeper level along with firing up their imaginations! The children have thoroughly enjoyed studying these new texts. Please ask them about it at home!
The photographs show Year 2 who have been looking at ‘The Farmer and the Clown’. They created the farmer’s house in the classroom, including the items they thought he would have in his rooms. They then added some interesting adjectives to describe the items and gave each other guided tours of the house, describing what was inside!
