Parent Zone Online Safety Assembly
On Wednesday, Years 3 to 6 had a fun afternoon participating in a live assembly with Google Internet Legends. They covered the different pillars of internet safety together, virtually, over YouTube. This included secure passwords, sharing images, the dangers of phishing, being kind online and being brave to report concerns to an adult.
All the class teachers were able to send in the children's ideas and answers to the presenters, who then gave a shoutout to everyone! Throughout the assembly, the children were looking for hidden letters, which in the end spelt 'INTERLAND.' This is an online safety game that children can access via: https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_uk/interland.
Just before the end of the assembly, the presenters reminded all the children to share their learning with families and friends to help everyone to be safe online. If you would like more support, you can access online safety tips here: https://www.parents.parentzone.org.uk/legendaryparent.
