As part of their ongoing environmental work, Year 4 went litter picking in the local community on Wednesday. We collected twelve bags of rubbish and put it where it is supposed to be - in the bin! Although the children were shocked by how much rubbish they found, they had a great time and even rescued some ladybirds from the litter before it was binned. To say thank you for their hard work, the doctor's surgery gave them some biscuits which they enjoyed back in school once they had washed their hands. Thank you very much to Anne Whittaker and her team at the Throckley Village Group for helping us to organise the event and for providing litter pickers for the children to use.
