30th November, 2018
Dear Parent/Carer,
Outstanding Outcomes at Throckley Primary School!
I am writing to share with you our outstanding results from the Key Stage Two 2018 statutory assessments which have placed us overall in the top 1% of schools nationally. These results are based on both attainment (the scores that the pupils have achieved in their KS2 SATs) and value added progress (how much progress the children have made since their KS1 SATs).
This is such an amazing achievement which we want to celebrate with our children, families and whole school community.
Reading
* 93% of children achieved the expected standard or better in reading (18% above National Average).
* 71% of children at greater depth in reading (43% above the National Average). This places us second in the city for those working at the higher standard.
* The average scaled score attained by pupils in reading was 112.1 points (possible range 80-120). This places us in the 1st percentile in the country.
* Average progress made by pupils in reading was +8.2 (possible range -10 to +10). This places us in the 1st percentile in the country.

N.B. Test percentile scores are commonly reported on many standardised assessment tests to allow comparison against other schools in the country. Percentile literally means per hundred. If a school scores at the 5th percentile on a measure, that school has scored at least as well as, or better than, 5 percent of schools on that test. The smaller the percentile the better the performance of a school.
These fantastic results are a testament to our amazing staff and governors who are dedicated and committed to the ensuring we continue to provide the best possible educational opportunities to fulfil each and every child’s potential.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for your ongoing support to our school and to your children, who make Throckley Primary school so special and such an exciting and vibrant place to work and learn.
Yours sincerely
Julie Stuart, Head Teacher
