Year 5 were very excited to welcome Jason from GEM Education to school on Wednesday. He introduced the children to several pieces of IT equipment and modeled how to use them. They then worked through a carousel of activities in the hall. Throughout the afternoon, Year 5 worked with Spheros, Microbits, Crumbles, Ozobots, Makey Makeys and even drones! Each station offered a different type of IT experience so all the children had great fun developing their understanding of computing in a very short space of time. After school Jason delivered further training to the teachers in their staff meeting. Now the children and staff are really looking forward to using the Microbits and Crumbles again as part of their IT projects in the summer term!
