At Throckley Primary we provide a flexible offer for children from two-years-old.  Our Throckley Acorns playgroup for twos begins the journey through our school and children progress into our Rising 3's playgroup and then into our Preschool Nursery.  Our Playgroups and Nursery are fully integrated into our outstanding school and all children in these groups access our purposeful and empowering Early Years Curriculum which fully prepares them for the next steps in their school career and opens the doors to the wider world.

Key Information for Nursery

All children who have turned three before 1st September 2024 will receive a free 30-hours place in our Nursery.  If you qualify for 30-hours of funding for working parents, we request that you continue to register for this scheme so that the school can claim this funding.

Children in Nursery wear the same uniform as the rest of school. Please check our uniform pages for more information.

The Nursery Day - 8:40am - 3:10pm 

Lunch in Nursery - Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch or can stay for one of our delicious school lunches. School lunches are charged at  £2.10 daily. Please check to see if your child is entitled to free school lunches. 

What does your child need? 

A waterproof coat - we like to be outside in all weathers!

A pair of wellington boots to keep in Nursery 

A water bottle
