Diversity Council
We are thrilled to introduce Throckley Primary School's Diversity Council!
Our Diversity Council is made up of children from Years 4, 5 and 6 and they are key members of our school community. They will work hard to make our school an even more diverse and inclusive place to be. The Diversity Council will meet with Miss Bolton every half term to discuss areas of development, as well as exciting events and opportunities that our school can get involved in!
New Pencils!
To launch Black History Month, we held an assembly based on the inequality of skin-coloured products throughout the years. The children were shocked to find out that it took years to create products such as ballet shoes, Barbie dolls and plasters in a range of different skin tones. In support of this, Diversity Council were thrilled to help order and deliver these 'Colour of the World' pencils to all classroms. This means that children can find the perfect shade to match a range of skin colours next time they are drawing famous people, characters, or themselves!
