In Design Technology, Year 6 learnt all about Antarctic explorers. We compared human bodies to the bodies of Antarctic animals and thought about whether we were adapted to these conditions as well. We decided that we would need to ‘adapt ourselves’ and created energy bars which were high in calories to provide lots of energy to explorers, and were high in fat so that they would be able to insulate themselves with a layer of blubber.
