Y6 - Light - Investigating how light travels in straight lines. 25.02.19

As part of our ‘Light’ topic in science, we experimented the way that light travels. To prove that light travels in a straight line, we completed a range of different investigations. First, we had three different pieces of paper which had had patterns cut in to them. We needed to line up the patterns and the line ray so that the image was projected on to someone’s face. We also used string as a model to represent the straight ray of light. To investigate scattered light, we used a flat piece of tinfoil and a crumpled up piece of tinfoil and observed the difference in reflection.
