Using maps skills to locate countries.

We used our map skills to locate Peru on a world map and where it was in location to London. Then, we discussed how South America was a continent, Peru was a country and Lima, where Paddington lived, was the capital city. Some children used the globe to find which of the locations we discussed sat closest to the equator and then we came to the hypothesis that countries which are closer to the equator are more likely to have a warmer climate. That’s why London is colder than Peru!
