Time to Talk Day

7th February 2020

6th February was Time to Talk Day – a day when everyone at school was encouraged to have a conversation about mental health.  We displayed posters around school to encourage conversations in an attempt to break the stigma and raise awareness of mental health. Children in Years 1 & 2 talked to their peers to find out what can make them feel happier at times when they feel sad.  Y3 had a class assembly around the topic of mental health and discussed why it is just as important as our physical health. Y5 teachers encouraged the children to write down any worries/thoughts that they have that they would like to talk about. Each week they are going to look at a couple and generate talk as a whole class.  Y6 took part in a true or false quiz to help to dispel a few popular misconceptions about mental health.
