Science - Evaporation.

On Tuesday, Class 4B wanted to explore the process of evaporation and what affects the rate of change. They watched a time-lapsed video of a puddle disappear which inspired them. Commandeering empty trays, the children filled these with a layer of salt water, variously subjecting the trays to direct sunlight, shade and the heat from a hairdryer. Measurements were taken precisely and the children compared the outcome after 30 minutes. The hair dryer was the outright winner, turning all the liquid into gas in under half an hour.
