Safer Internet Day.

Safer Internet Day

In Year 2B, we discussed the different devices which we use the internet on. The children then had lengthy chats about the games they like to play on these! We looked at the different symbols which often appear when we are online and tried to match these to their meaning. We then read an online story about two aliens, Zap and Zoom. They were playing a game online and suddenly were asked for information: they had choices to make. We talked about their choices and were pleased that the aliens made sensible ones by asking their grown-ups for help. Following from this, we created our own conversations between the aliens, giving each other helpful advice when encountering a problem online. Finally, we wrote messages of advice across strips of paper, creating paper chains. We thought that this would really help younger children to understand how they can be safe online too.
