National Number Day.

For Number Day, Year 5 took part in a carousel of 4 different activities across the morning. The children chose a design for their very own board game and added mathematical challenges for the players to answer throughout the game! The second activity was inspired by our Anglo-Saxon topic! The children used Anglo-Saxon runes to create mathematical codes using all four operations to see whether their friends could crack the code. The third activity required plotting and identifying co-ordinates in a game similar to battleships and the final activity required children to problem solve using a number of clues and a process of elimination to organise a box of chocolates. We were all dressed head to toe in numbers for the occasion; some of us even made our own T-shirts. To top number day off, Jack and Finlay received their 80 badge certificate in assembly, well done boys!!
