European Day of Languages

25th September 2015
All across the school today the children were learning about different European countries and languages.  We finished the day with an assembly that featured songs from each of the countries.  The children enjoyed the day - be sure to ask them to tell you about it.
  • Reception learned about Sweden and made Simla Buns and flags.
  • Miss Sewell's class learned about Italy and Mrs Wright's class learned about Austria.  They each made a national dish (bruschetta and apple strudel) which they shared with each other.
  • Miss Newton's class learned about Spanish numbers and greetings and entertained us all with the song 'Macarena'.
  • Miss Storey's class studied Norway and Viking History.  They also painted Norwegian landscapes.
  • Mr Bull's class held a German Oktoberfest with traditional music and food.
  • Miss Thorpe's class learned about the climate in Lithuania and created graphs showing the temperature variations across the seasons.
  • Mrs Giblin/Mrs Walton's class learned a Bulgarian song and did research on geography and key features of Bulgaria.
  • Mr Brown's class entertained us by singing 'Old McDonald' with Croation animal noises.
  • Miss O'Reilly's class learned about Iceland and studied its Viking History.
