World Book Day
4th March 2016
World Book Day at Throckley Primary School has lasted all week! Each class has been reading and writing about a favourite classic children’s story. They have then produced a prop box about their classic book so that other classes can ’Guess the Classic’. On World Book Day itself, everyone came into school in their comfy pyjamas and slippers and throughout the day our older and younger children shared books in the library and in our special reading tent in the hall with hot chocolate and biscuits. The younger children really look up to the older children and this is a wonderful way to share the love of reading throughout the school. World Book Day continued on Friday with our annual Spelling Bee (winners will appear in the newsletter next week) and our Celebration Assembly with parents/carers where you will all be able to see the brilliant collection of Shelfies - thank you for sending them in! There are more photographs in our World Book Day Gallery in the Galleries section of the website.
