Open the Book Assembly

20th January 2017
Volunteers from St Mary's Church came in for an 'Open the Book' assembly this week.  The Bible story in the assembly was 'Jesus in the Temple' and the children were encouraged to think about Jesus as a 10-year old child.  'Open the Book' is a programme of themed and dramatised Bible stories, which are presented by teams of volunteers free of charge to primary schools. The Bible stories are presented in an accessible and enjoyable way and the children participate actively in the dramatisation.  The Bible Society provides this resource to schools because 'The Bible’s contribution to our culture – language, literature, the visual arts and music – is immense. The Bible enriches life, and every child should have the opportunity to experience it.'  Thank you to St Mary's Church for providing this excellent programme to our school.
