LORIC Programme Starting Summer Term

6th April 2017

After the Easter break, children at Throckley Primary will be introduced to five very special characters: Laura Leadership, Charlie Communication, Raj Resilience, Olly Organisation and Izzy Initiative!  Together, the LORIC family will support children in developing key life skills that will support them in their learning in the classroom and beyond. We firmly believe that it is essential that children at our school develop as people as well as learners and therefore we have invested in the LORIC programme which will see staff in school promoting and highlighting the key skills of Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication.

We will begin after Easter by exploring what each attribute looks like and how we can demonstrate it in lessons, on the yard and across school. We will then spend the rest of the summer term focussing on resilience. Children will be encouraged to think about when and where they can develop their resilience and it will be a key word that appears across school all through the final term of the year. Look out for stickers  celebrating your child's resilience next term!
