Football for ALL
26th February 2016
The children in our Key Stage 2 (Y3 - Y6) have participated in a programme called ‘Football for All’ which explores how to make football accessible for disabled people of all ages. The coaches worked with the children in their classes to help them understand what disability is and what impacts a disability might have on a person’s life, especially when they want to participate in a sport. The children then learned about blind and deaf football and the differences in equipment and rules that are needed. They then went down to the hall to try out some of the equipment and skills that they had learned about in the classroom. The programme provides an excellent way for our children to learn about differences, respecting others and the challenges of disability. Thank you Newcastle United!
