Delicious & Healthy Lunches

9th September 2016

A recent study by Leeds University found just 1.6% (2 out of 100) of packed lunches for primary school children meet the tough nutritional standards set for their classmates who are eating school meals.  If you want your children to eat a nutritious and delicious lunch, please try our school dinners.  John, our new Chartwells chef has been working all summer on child-friendly recipes and the children will love his meals.  Children can choose from a main course, vegetarian option, homemade soup with bread buns, jackets or sandwiches.  The soup has been a very popular option this week!  Fresh fruit, yoghurt, salad bar and homemade puddings are also available daily - there is something for even the pickiest eaters.  Please  remember that all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically qualify for Universal Free School Meals.  These free meals are worth over £300 per child per year for the average family.  If you would like your child to try school dinners, please speak to the office.
